2024 Summer Show Audition Workshop

About the Workshop

Thinking of auditioning for CCT’s summer show, Seussical this summer? Auditions can be intimidating, so we are here to help our young actors prepare for the summer show audition process.

Taught by new CCT Artistic Associate, Debra Leopard, this workshop takes students through the audition process from beginning to end. Students learn how to prepare for an audition, overcome stage fright, gain confidence, and stand out in the crowd. Students will get the chance to practice auditioning including singing, choreography, and cold reading from the script. They will get into the mind of a veteran director/actress to gain an understanding of what directors look for in auditions including tips and techniques.

This workshop is a great opportunity for young actors to be fully prepared for the audition process and will help the young actors be their absolute best at an audition. Young actors will also get the chance to meet the staff who will be working on the show this summer, including the Director (Debra Leopard), Music Director (Paul Lindley), Choreographers (Lisa Sendler and Rachel Brown), and Stage Manager (Sadie Carr).
