About the Show
CCT's PB&J Players are bounding onto the stage with Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo, and those hilarious, plotting penguins in a musical adventure of a lifetime.
Alex is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at the Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity, with an adoring public and regular meals. But when Marty's curiosity gets the better of him, a prodigious band of penguins helps him escape to explore the world, and the adventure is on.
Packed with outlandish characters and an upbeat score,

Auditions: What You Need to Know
Rehearsal/Production Info
Who: Actors in grades 1-6 (26-27 school year).
When: Sunday, January 10th from 3-5pm OR Monday, January 11th from 6-8pm. Callbacks: Tuesday, January 12th @ 6-8pm (we will let actors who are called back know via email after their audition session if they need to return for callbacks on this date)

Where: Washington St. United Methodist Church (1401 Washington St, Columbia, SC 29201)
*We will open up the doors approximately 10 minutes prior to the start time listed above, and we will audition as a group. Parents will drop their actors off after check-in and come back at the end time listed above.
Steps to Take
- Fill out the Online Audition Form and Conflict Calendar (Google Form)
- Review the Production Information Sheet (pdf file) **By signing the audition form, you agree to adhere to all listed requirements on this sheet.
- Auditionees do not need to prepare anything for auditions, come as you are! During auditions, actors will be asked to learn an excerpt of a song, a short dance combination, and will possibly read some lines from the script. Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you can move in (NO CROCS PLEASE).
- Actors only need to attend one audition session unless asked to return for a callback audition.
After the Audition
- The cast list will be sent out via email by Friday, January 15th @8pm. Here you will accept or decline your actor’s role.
- There is a one time participation fee of $125 ($250 max per family). There are a limited number of scholarships available, and you can request one after the cast list has been sent.
- Rehearsals begin Tuesday, January 18th. Rehearsals will generally be held Monday through Friday evenings, Saturday times vary, and Sunday afternoons. The rehearsal schedule will be released after the first rehearsal.
- There will be a mandatory parent/actor meeting before the first rehearsal at 6pm. The meeting shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes.
- Rehearsal conflicts will not be accepted beginning March 8th.
- Performances will be November 6-8 at Brookland-Cayce High School (link opens in Google Maps).
