2023 Audition Workshop

About the Workshop

Calling all middle and high schoolers as CCT hosts our first ever Non-Musical Audition Workshop! This hands-on workshop will feature audition tips, tricks and strategies for young actors auditioning for non-musical productions.

This spring CCT's YouTheatre will mount 2 non-musical productions; Puffs or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic and She Kills Monsters.  The workshop, taught by our expert CCT staff and each show's director, is a perfect opportunity to hone those acting skills and perfect your audition technique. All participants will have the chance to work with text from the shows and receive feedback from the directors and staff. The Non-musical Audition Workshop is open to all young actors in grades 6-12, and requires no prior acting experience.

Attendees of the auditions workshop will:

• Have the opportunity to meet the directors of both spring shows shows and along with regular CCT staff
• Learn about the CCT audition process
• Receive coaching on preparing a monologue with the actual audition monologues
• Learn how to best approach a cold read and improvisational audition
• Receive feedback in all areas of the audition

When: January 15th, 2023 from 2:00 to 3:30

Who: Young actors in grades 6-12. No prior acting experience required and first-timers are encouraged to attend.
