Spring 2013 Classes

At Columbia Children's Theatre, we know how important the arts are for a child's development, and we know how to have fun! Participation in the arts encourages the development of creativity, critical thinking, motor, teamwork, math, language arts, and leadership skills that students can use throughout their lives. We offer age-specific classes taught by certified master teachers of theatre and/or professional working actors trained in theatre pedagogy.

The Actor's Toolbox

for ages 8 - 13

Every profession requires its tools.  Just as the painter needs good brushes, and the carpenter needs his hammer and nails so must the actor develop the tools necessary in creating believable characters on stage.  The Actor's Toolbox helps beginning and experienced actors hone their tools (the voice and the body) through proven techniques and methods used by professional actors.  Taught by veteran CCT actor and teaching artist Paul Lindley II The Actor's Toolbox  will explore the use of vocal and physical characterization, improvisation and sense memory to build a character and perfect performance skills.

Wednesdays from 4:30 - 6:00 March 6 - May 1 (no class the week of April 1)

Cost:  $175.00
