Advanced Acting – Scenes
Mondays, Jan. 30th – Apr. 3rd

In this 10 week class, American Academy of Dramatic Art graduate and CCT teaching artist Julian Deleon leads students through some of the most iconic scenes in American theatre. Drawing from the acting techniques of Stanislavski, Meisner, Uta Hagen, Lee Strasberg and Stella Adler students will delve deeply into the works of Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller, Anton Chekov, Beth Henley and many others. Students will also be given the opportunity to direct scenes of their choice with their fellow actors.
Homeschool Theatre Intensive
Thursdays, Feb. 2nd – Apr. 6th

CCT Artistic Director, Jerry Stevenson has designed this curriculum especially for the homeschooled student. It is sequentially based and built upon national standards for Theatre/Drama. It will cover the basics of: STORY MAKING/SCRIPT WRITING, ACTING, DESIGNING, DIRECTING, RESEARCHING, CONNECTING, VALUING AND RESPONDING, RELATING TO HISTORY AND CULTURE. Designed for grades 4-8 or by permission of the instructor.
Theatrical Tap 1, 2, & 3
Tuesdays, Jan. 31st – Apr. 4th
These three separate classes that will each run 35 minutes. During the 1st week of class we will place students in Tap 1, 2, or 3. Tap 1 is a crash course in basic tap designed for upper elementary and middle school aged students seeking to learn the fundamental techniques of tap to enhance their “castability” and expand their skills for the stage. Tap 2 is a crash course in basic tap designed for upper middle and high school aged students. Tap 3 is for the slightly more advanced tapper, we will take these dancers through more difficult tap steps and concentrate on putting them together in combination with specific musical theatre choreography. These classes are taught by master tap teacher Lisa Sendler (Zombie Prom, Hairspray, Shrek, Bugsy Malone) each class will include a short showcase of student work on the final day.
Wednesdays,Feb. 1st – Apr. 5th

CCT Artistic Director and voice teacher Jerry Stevenson will lead this group class which focuses on breath control and support, proper tonal formation and placement, and song interpretation. The class will culminate with a recital with students from his private voice studio on April 6th.
Kidstage Afterschool Theatre Bootcamp

KidStage, an intensive theatre “bootcamp” is designed to give aspiring young performers the opportunity to work on a production in a professional training environment. Each session includes training in pantomime, vocal & physical characterization, musical theatre movement, acting and design, addressing the rehearsal and production process from audition through strike. KidStage culminates in a production with costumes, lighting and sets performed in front of a live audience on the last day of class!
