Puppets with Paul

June 5-9        9:00-12:30
For students entering grades 4-12
Tuition $200

Back by popular demand, this one week hands-on workshop will focus on the design, construction and manipulation of various styles of puppets. CCT Artistic Associate and Brennen Elementary Music teacher Paul Lindley leads the workshop that will cover finger puppets, hand puppets, sock puppets, rod (or bunraku) puppets and more.  The workshop will conclude with a puppet show for family and friends on the last day of class. REGISTER NOW


Camp Hamilton

June 5-9       1:00-4:30
For students entering grades 4-12
Tuition $200

Based on the mega-hit musical Hamilton this one week camp will take students on a journey from learning and performing a musical number from Hamilton to composing their own hip-hop number inspired by their own historical figure.  Students will study the beginnings of rap from tribal chanting, to Shakespeare and beyond. This camp will be taught by USC Theatre graduate Sallie Sargent and USC Music Education student Taylor Diveley. REGISTER NOW


Improvisation for the Actor

June 12-16       9:00-12:30
For students entering grades 6-12
Tuition $200

Led by Columbia native, Chicago and New York actor and improviser Martha Hearn, this class will take young performers through the basics of creating short and long form improvisational scenes. Often building scenes around audience suggestions, the actors learn to create environment, character, plot, conflict and resolution all while thinking on their feet. REGISTER NOW


Sketch Comedy with Martha Hearn

From vaudeville to SNL, modern sketch comedy is probably one of the most beloved and enduring types of entertainment today. Join Chicago and New York actor and improviser Martha Hearn as we explore the basics of this time-honored art form. Learn to create structure, “game”, and beats in the crafting of sketches as well as exploring character, comic timing and presentation in the performance of the sketches on the last day of class. REGISTER NOW


Camp Lion King

Hakuna Matata!  It’s Camp Lion King: CCT’s 2 week musical production camp! Join CCT Artistic Associate and Brennen Elementary Music teacher Paul Lindley as we mount our very own production of The Lion King. Learn the songs, do the dances, and make your costumes all while learning about the theatre production process from auditioning for roles to striking the set. Backstage Basics: Tech Theatre for Kids

Have you ever wondered how all that theatre magic happens right before your very eyes?  Well join USC Theatre graduate Sallie Sargent as she reveals all the secrets and teaches young techies about theatrical design, construction, painting techniques, lighting and much much more! Advanced Acting: Our Town

June 26-30      1:00-4:30
For students entering grades 7-12

Join classically-trained American Academy of Dramatic Arts graduate Julian Deleon in tackling one of the American theatre’s most iconic plays: Thorton Wilder’s Our Town.  Students will delve into this masterpiece exploring its themes of family, community, life, love and death and present a reader’s theatre version of the play for family and friends on the last day of class. REGISTER NOW


Fantasy Fun Camp

For students entering grades 5K-2nd

A perfect introduction to the world of theatre for early learners. Campers will explore the basics of creative expression, storytelling, creative movement and pantomime. Acting Up Camp

For students entering grades 3-6
Tuition $200

Specially designed for students in the middle grades, Acting Up Camp leads campers through an exploration of the actor’s toolbox and focuses on pantomime, creative movement, vocal and physical characterization, character development and improvisation.  Campers will present a short showcase of their work on the final day of class. REGISTER NOW
